Dr.BhimRao Ramji Ambedkar (14.4.1991- 6.12.1956) popularly known as Babsaheb Ambedkar was not only a emancipator, savior and messiah of marginalised section of population but also a great leader of the nation and a world class intellectual. He has a lot of contribution in the making of India. He was the chief architect of the Constitution of India. Dr Ambedkar left on indelible impression in the history of India as a messiah who unfettered the oppressed masses and secured human rights for millions of weaker and oppressed classes that were path-breaking in its essence and strived towards the monumental endeavour of freedom. Ambedkar was an encyclopaedia and a compendium of knowledge in economics, sociology, politics, education, anthropology, law and other area of social sciences. The unexplored domain and dimensions of Ambedkar are many and they provide fertile field for research by contemporary scholars. The social ideas of Ambedkar which he visualized an inclusive society based on the democratic ethos i.e. “liberty, equality and fraternity” is highly useful and relevant today for social harmony and social integration.
